Finance – Tarporley Parish Council

The parish council is funded by a small element of the council tax called the precept. Everything the council spends is recorded, audited, and published here.

The precept

Each January, the council reviews the budget for the coming financial year and agrees the precept — the amount that will be added to council tax bills in the parish. The precept for 2025/2026 is £104,000, which works out at approximately £63 per Band D household per year.

Notice of Public Rights

For a period of 30 working days each summer, residents have a statutory right to inspect the accounts and supporting documents.

Items of expenditure

All individual items of income or expenditure are listed here. We publish this list quarterly.

Asset register

The asset register lists everything the council owns — land, equipment, and other assets — with the original cost and the date acquired. It is reviewed at the end of each financial year.

The council’s external auditor is PKF LITTLEJOHN LLP. Their report on the most recent AGAR is included in the AGAR file above. If the auditor has issued any matter of significance, it will be linked here.
