Car Parks, Allotments & Amenities
Poppy Lane is home to three council-managed amenities in the heart of the village: a public car park, allotments, and the Tarporley bowling green. The site has been a community asset since the 1920s, originally gifted to the village by the Portal Estate and later by the Royal British Legion. It is a designated Protected Local Green Space in the Tarporley Neighbourhood Plan.
Poppy Lane Car Park
The car park at Poppy Lane offers 32 spaces and is open to the public free of charge. It is well used by shoppers, residents, parents doing the school run, bowlers and allotment holders.

The car park also provides access to the bowling green and allotments. Please respect other users when parking during busy periods such as school drop-off and pick-up times.

Tarporley has several public car parks close to the High Street:
- Poppy Lane — 32 spaces (free)
- Behind The Rising Sun — 85 spaces
- Community Centre car park — 60 spaces (3-hour limit)
- High Street on-street parking — Burton Square to Nantwich Road

Allotments
The Tarporley allotments at Poppy Lane have been providing local growing space since the 1970s and are well used by families across the parish. There is high demand for plots and a waiting list is currently in operation.
Tarporley Allotments are owned by Tarporley Parish Council and managed by Tarporley Allotment Holders.

Bowling Green
The Tarporley bowling green is a crown green and has been in continuous use since it was officially opened in May 1937. As well as regular use by local members, the green hosts matches against visiting teams throughout the season. The site enjoys outstanding views across to the Sandstone Ridge, Peckforton Hills, Beeston Castle, and the Clwydian Mountains.
The bowling green is managed independently by the bowling club.
