Different organisations are responsible for different things in and around the village. Telling the right one straight away is usually the fastest way to get something fixed. This page sets out who handles what.
Cheshire West and Chester Council
Most day-to-day issues you might want to report are handled by Cheshire West and Chester Council, the unitary authority for our area, rather than by the parish council. Their online service is the quickest way to log:
- potholes and road defects
- broken or missing street lights
- missed bin collections, fly-tipping and dumped waste
- blocked drains and gullies
- graffiti and anti-social behaviour
- abandoned vehicles
- parking and licensing matters
Police and emergencies

Highways England (the A49)
The A49 through the village is managed by Cheshire West and Chester Council, but for the surrounding strategic road network (motorways and trunk roads), National Highways is the right contact.

Things the parish council does handle
If your issue is on or around the village green, the allotments, a parish-owned bench or noticeboard, or a footpath within the parish, please contact the clerk.
The parish council also responds to planning applications affecting the parish. If you’d like to draw a particular application to our attention, please email the clerk with the application reference and a short note of your concern.
